“Recipe of Me” is a beloved activity from American Girl that fosters creativity and self-expression in young girls. Participants create personalized recipes that showcase their identity, interests, and family traditions, writing about favorite foods, cherished family recipes, and the memories associated with them.
In my role as CG Lead for the accompanying music project, I focused primarily on R&D, lighting, look development, and motion capture. I collaborated closely with the Director, Animators, Riggers, and Modelers to shape a visual narrative that enhanced the soundtrack and created an engaging experience that resonated with the audience.
Role: Lead CG Artist, R&D, Mocap, Lighting, and Rendering
Studio: BWA Studio, New York
For the lighting aspect, I crafted a visual narrative using a pastel color palette to convey a smooth and soft aesthetic, reflecting the character Summer McKinny, the Girl of the Year 2025. Given the tight timeline to complete the project, I implemented various optimization techniques to significantly reduce render time without compromising visual quality. This collaboration with the Director, Animators, Riggers, and Modelers allowed us to create an engaging experience that resonated with the audience.
